There are a few times in life when everything works our perfectly. Tonight was such a night. The food was exquisite. We started with the crab au gratin app which was rich and decadent. My husband had the red fish and I had the striped bass. Both entrees were served with a wonderful spinach risotto and haricot Verts. We ended with a fabulous bread pudding with craisins and pecans covered in a southern comfort sauce. Our Server, Stacy was the best! Highly recommend 2 Johns for a romantic dinner. There was a piano player as well that added to the ambience!

First off the tables were really close together. It felt kind of cramped which was a let down because we wished it had a more intimate feeling. We started off with the crab cakes. Don't even waste your time on those. They are not worth it. They weren't disgusting but I've had better at Copelands so if you want some good crab cakes go there. Then we ordered the rainbow trout and flounder. They were both delicious but by far the rainbow trout was EXCELLENT so it is a must get!

Where do I start? First and foremost I have issue with going to a dining establishment and not being able to hold a conversation with my guests. A++ on this. Grapefruit and Peach Ruston Martinis were amazing. Shrimp and grits appetizer was equally as good. Berry Salad, wedge salad and Green Tomato salads did not disappoint. The Entrees were stellar! The dishes chosen were Steak med rare of course, Halibut and Snapper. All were stellar. The desserts were gone in the blink of an eye. Creme Brulee, Chocolate cake and Blackberry Cobbler were ever so enjoyable. Service was Impeccable. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

2 John's is an incredibly amazing relief from the week. Thursday's are something I look forward to as well as some Tuesday's and Wednesdays. Jackie is an incredibly wonderful person who makes me feel like I am important and I belong here. If it weren't for her, I probably would just go somewhere else.....

For the SBC area, 2Johns is one of my top steak houses for special occasions. I admit that I am a bit of a food snob, having been exposed to so much diversity in Houston and having to lower my standards after relocating to less ethnically diverse parts of north Louisiana. I made reservations in advance and had no problems upon my arrival. Hands down, the steak au poivre & filet Oscar are cooked to the ultimate steak perfection. The steaks were prepared exactly as requested and I would expect nothing but the best. Each bite of my steak was tender, juicy, and burst with dynamic flavors. Service was impeccable and the ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner. Yes, they are $$$ but you really do get what you pay for and I am 100% satisfied with my dining experience there. I'm really excited and looking forward to planning a future visit for an upcoming celebration!

Fellow Yelpers, oh how I adore thee! You so rarely disappoint. Yesterday was one of those "I need an excellent martini ASAP" sort of workdays, and I saw this place is known for their outstanding drinks, so off I go. Walking in, I was rather nervous as it is very upscale and snooty-looking, however the young lady who greeted me at the door welcomed me with the biggest smile and reassured me my work clothes were just fine. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Joel and Nathan (I hope I'm remembering their names correctly. I'm so bad about that) who are truly gifted Mixologists. They also happen to be very nice, funny and outstanding salesmen. I had no clue what to get other than what the Yelpers advised (grapefruit martini. Beyond sublime, but I'll get to that) and that's when they began to describe this upstream swimming Salmon from Alaska in all its succulent glory. I don't like seafood. Not a fan of fish unless it's Tuna but the look on His face when he described it....I knew I had to see what the big deal was about. It was SO GOOD. I ate it all.I also had a fried green tomato salad that was so crisp and fresh! But those martinis....the Peach, the grapefruit..I dreamed about them later on. As an added bonus, the restaurant has excellent taste, as they do carry Don Julio tequila in not only silver but anejo and reposado. The piano music and singing was excellent, the crowd welcoming, and it was a very enjoyable end to a pretty rotten day. The price for such a lovely experience isn't cheap; In fact it was the first time I ever paid over a hundred dollars for just myself but I had good company, a meal I've never had before, excellent drinks, great atmosphere and free entertainment in not only the live music but watching the bartenders create their unique drinks and clearly having a ball doing it. The way my bank account is set up, you won't see me often but the very next time I find myself with a little extra funds I'm definitely headed here to treat myself. And when I do, I hope to meet some of you there in person - You'll find me at the bar, sipping a grapefruit martini, I'm sure. Well done Yelpers, you were so right about this place.

I made reservations for my wife and I at 5 pm on a Tuesday. We arrived a few minutes early so we had drinks at the bar. The bartender recommended a Grapefruit Martini and it was marvelous! The atmosphere was pleasant. At 5 pm we were promptly escorted to our table and brought a wonderful bread roll with whipped butter. We had appetizers of a wedge salad and shrimp cocktail. The salad was absolutely fresh, light, and tasty. The shrimp in the cocktail were true jumbo and served with cocktail sauce and a light zesty honey mustard. For main entrees, my wife had flounder and I had the 10 Oz filet steak. The flounder was excellently cooked without an overbearing fishy glavor. My wife comes from a seafood industry, so her tastes are highly discriminating. My steak was ordered medium rare, and it was cooked correctly. The steak was very tender by means of 1. Excellent sourcing of restaraunt meat and 2. excellent cooking techniques. There were no chemicals or cheap tenderizing techniques used. The resulting experience was the best beef steak I've ever had (and I've been around many fine restaraunts). The servers were very personal and attentive to our every need, and they quickly packaged my wife's meal to bring home. If there was anything to complain about, we had a large boisterous group seated next to us that kind of ruined our intimate meal. In the future, I will be more selective in seating (and tipping) to ensure we could find a more cozy booth in a corner. But I do highly recommend 2johns as the best upscale eatery in the entire Shreveport/Bossier City area.

These are the best steaks in the area the I know of. Very nice clean restaurant, great service, personal attention to detail. One of the owners came by to ask us about our meal. You wont get that everywhere. If you feel like dressing up and having a great meal I would recommend Two Johns.

Amazing dinner. The Crab Au Gratin was a great way to start the meal. We both had the Filet Oscar which was to die for. Top it off with an amazing bottle of 2008 Quintessa and you can't get much better than that.

My favorite steakhouse ever. These guys know their stuff, and the portions are perfect. Their deep beer selection is wonderful.

2Johns is my favorite place to get a steak in the Shreveport-Bossier area. The simplicity and mouthwatering flavors make my mouth so happy. I usually sit at the bar so that I can eat and enjoy the ambiance of the piano music. My favorite drink is the Blueberry Mojito.

My Fiancé and I ate in the bar with our 2 friends. The service and food were great! We especially enjoyed the live jazz music and the piano.

Food was outstanding !!! Owner checked on us at our table. Would easily be a 5star if not for our waitress. She was not very attentive at all. Drinks stayed empty. Slow to bring check. The food makes it worth it though.

I am a native to the Shreveport-Bossier area, but now live in Houston. I dined here with my boyfriend and another couple. I am a manager at a fine dining steakhouse, so my expectations were pretty high. The food was absolutely delicious. Tried the BBQ Quail and grits app, it was divine. Just the right amount of seasoning and the grits were a nice consistency. I had the Rainbow Trout Meuniere and my boyfriend had the NY Strip medium. We both loved our choices! Our guests also were delighted with their food, which I expected since they suggested 2Johns. Our server, Greg was just fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and of cooking in general. He was a pleasure to talk to. Throughout our meal, I noticed John, the manager, visiting every table in the restaurant. Being a dining room manager, I recognized how nice that looked. I had heard some unpleasant opinions about how certain people are perceived by the mgmt staff there, and to my disappointment, John never once visited our table. We had a full dinner from a bottle of wine, apps, entrees and desserts, so we were there for quite a while, which gave him ample time to check on us and he never did. While everything else was great, this small negligence left a very bad taste in my mouth. Food and Greg's service was great, but being looked over when everyone else seemed important is why I gave 2 stars...

I visited 2Johns for dinner a couple of nights ago. It was a great experience. I had the 7oz filet while my date had the baked chicken. I enjoyed the food very much. The place was empty but I attributed that to the holidays. We also had martinis that were well prepared. I would definitely return to 2Johns in the future.

I had the pleasure of dining at 2 Johns while in town for a baptism. My dinner there was the most exquisite meal I've ever had. Period. From the Crabmeat au Gratin through to the Steak Au Poivre to the Blueberry Cobbler, everything was absolutely delicious. Also, the service was just right -- friendly and subtly attentive. I only wish I lived closer to enjoy 2 Johns more often.

For me to give any place five star would have to be extraordinary, but this place is real close. The part I think I like most is the people. Just wonderful folks from the owner to the table stewards. They have a couple of sea bass recipes are fantastic. The crab cakes are so good that my wife will eat them there. They have a full bar with knowledge folks behind the bar. Very clean and is your typical neighborhood establishment. While menu selection is very small but everything on there taste great. The variety is extensive from steak to seafood, to chicken to pasta and shrimp and a variety of salad selections. The calamari is the best in town and very tender. The appetizer selections are all excellent. If you have someone that is on a special diet while items like this may not be on the menu they can accommodate. Needless to say I'm a frequent visitor.

Elegant!!! Great ambiance, great drinks, great entertainment, EXCELLENT SERVICE! My ex and I along with 3 other couples went last night. Now u have to understand he's very tight on his money and 2Johns is a tiny bit pricey but he enjoyed everything so much he kept on spending. We had crab au gratin (so freaking good) & 7oz filets with crab meat and sauce butterfly cut for me. Also mango martinis are obsessive! We all enjoyed it so much. The owner/manager came by to thank us for coming! Sidebar: please understand that I expected that since we were...of another descent...I expected we'd be looked at or treated a smidgen different. NOT THE CASE! Everyone treated us with the utmost respect, very very warm, & even brought me a complimentary bowl of asparagus when I dropped ONE. Beautiful experience! Oh and complimentary valet parking!!!

This restaurant did no meet my expectations. Service was average and the food below average. The highlight was the wedge salad and the au gratin potatoes. I ordered the ribeye cooked medium and it came medium well. My husband ordered the filet special medium rare and it came medium well as well. For a restaurant that is suppose to specialize in steaks, we were not impressed. We are definitely willing to pay for the dining experience as much as excellent food and service; this restaurant did not meet any of these requirements!

Great experience! The service was perfect--they are always there when you need them, but do not hover. The food was delicious. I had the chicken and my boyfriend had the filet. They had great flavor. The red potatoe mashed potatoes were amazing and the asparagus as well. We ended with the chocolate flourless cake. This was the best one I have had. Great place for a date night! Best food I have had in Shreveport so far!

Please try another restaurant! My husband and I decided to try something different and while I had eaten here for lunch, this was his first experience. Reservations were easy and the table was 'eh'. I was facing the door to the kitchen and was distracted by the constant opening and closing. The wine list is limited but we were fine with what they had. The starter of fried calamari was nothing spectacular as you could have gone to Bella Fresca or Superior Steakhouse and had the same thing but much better. My husband loved the salad he chose as a result of the waitress's suggestion. My soup was okay. Again, nothing mind-blowing. We decided to try the steak with my husband choosing the 'house specialty' of the steak au pourvie and I ordered the special, filet Oscar. You should know that we are drastically different in the way we like steaks. I ordered mine butterflied and medium well with my husband having his medium. When our steaks arrived, it was instantly clear that mine was barely warm in the middle and his was, according to him, burned. We debated on simply switching but I insisted on sending them back. The waitress whisked away our plates while my husband was mid-sentence describing the problem. Less than 5 minutes later, she was back with our plates.... Unfortunately, all that had happened was that our steaks had been put on different plates and brought back out.. Even the shrimp I had cut was placed beside his steak.. Even the sauces hadn't been taken off.... Seriously, I have never in my life even been to a chain restaurant that would have tried this. Perhaps we were mistaken but I asked my husband to check his steak for where I had cut into it and lo and behold, there it was. After pondering this for a few minutes, we asked for the check. The owner came over to ask how our meal was and my husband replied, disappointing... when we explained what had happened, the owner simply replied, well, that is too bad ... we hate that happened... and walked away as the bill was presented... $180 without tip. In the future, we will stick with the know quantities: Mabry House, Superior Steakhouse, The Villiage or Bella Fresca. Any of these restaurants will offer better food and better service... Of this, I am sure.

WOW!!! I have waited a while to write this review since eating at 2Johns. I have a few extra minutes so I thought of what restaurant have I eaten at a few times before (5 here). I came to look at the reviews and was blown away at the experience that someone else had..... I won't write a novel, but this obviously was a very bad experience for one very experienced, educated publicly person....YAWN that must have something out for you not eating here...... ?? One star is a joke!! I really like 2Johns and have had a great experience every time I have eaten here. You will be pleased with anything you order on the menu. The ambiance and decor are very nice. I can't wait to go back....

2 Stars is a little harsh so I gave it 3. First of all the place is new and clean and has a fantastic wait staff. Some of the best staff from town now work there. The owner was very cordial and I appreciate him making his rounds and also appreciate him rolling the dice on a restaurant in Bossier. I was expecting more of a dark, dramatic atmosphere like other fine steakhouses I have eaten at in Dallas and other cities. I had read reviews that compared it to other fine steakhouses so I had somewhat of an expectation before entering. The shrimp and grit appetizer was great and the homemade thousand island dressing was also good. I ordered lobster that was tasty but small for the price. The dessert was creme brulee but contained liquid from the fruit at the bottom which is a no-no and disappointed me because this is my favorite dessert! Now, we travel and eat out alot so I may be being a little hard on this place and for the average Joe that doesnt get out much this place may be grand but I just expected more for what it cost. By more I mean larger lobster tail with a side dish instead of a-la-cart sides and my husband was disappointed with the flavor of his steak. For Bossier City it is good food that is overpriced. To compare it with other world class steakhouses it is missing something. Objectively, it is probably equal to Superiors Steakhouse in taste and price but not as good as Texas Street Tavern or The Village. That being said, go try it yourself and see:)
